This year, NEXT has reserved Wednesday to local and international top improvisers, to free forms and to international collaborations. The Sharp–Davis duo has already performed at A4 couple of years ago and it was an amazing concert. This time, key figure of New York downtown music scene, guitarist and composer Elliott Sharp and the prolific British bass clarinet player Gareth Davis are coming back with a new project: live soundtrack to Janene Higgins’ s poetic video Suspension of Disbelief. Higgins is well-known for her multiple collaborations with diverse New York City’s musicians. Besides Sharp, she has collaborated with Christian Marclay, Ikue Mori, Alan Licht and Okkyung Lee on performances, exhibitions and video installations.
