Introductory theoretical course into modular synthesis will focus on the fundamental theory of sound and psychoacoustics. Basics in synthesis will be explained by deconstructing sounds into 3 basic entities: pitch, timbre and amplitude. The concept of modularity will be analysed – expanding on the subtractive vs. additive synthesis approaches.
